What is Dry Needling?
Dry needling is a technique physical therapists use to treat myofascial pain. The technique uses a “dry” needle, one without medication or injection, inserted through the skin into areas of the muscle, known as trigger points.
At The Right Move, you will be working with one of the most experienced and highly trained physiotherapists in the Kingston area when it comes to functional dry needling. Ian has passed his Advanced Functional Dry Needling training through Kinetacore.
Before beginning treatment, it is important to understand the risks and benefits of this medical procedure. Fortunately for the patient, dry needling only carries very low risks of an adverse event. Under the care of a properly trained/certified physiotherapist, patients should and will feel confident in their therapist’s abilities to use dry needling in treating problem areas.
